Abel
Also in Русский · Українська
In 1904 Abel was said to represent Christ and the Church, characterized by the sacrificing spirit. In 1920 the same collective identification was restated as the Christ, the promised Seed. In 1944 the identification was reversed: Abel was placed among the typical representatives of God's organization, or woman, while Christ Jesus was distinguished as the true Seed. No later person-level typological identification of Abel was verified in the Knorr years after 1944 or in the Franz period through 1980.

Abel was presented as the first human to exercise faith after Eden and as an example of sinful humans gaining Jehovah’s approval through faith and sacrifice. Jesus remained the promised offspring whose sacrifice provides lasting rescue; no replacement prophetic antitype for Abel was proposed.
1 quote
Abel, the second son of Adam and Eve, was the first human to put faith in Jehovah after the tragedy in Eden. Because Abel loved Jehovah and sought to please Him and draw close to Him, he offered up a sacrifice.
