TO ALL CONGREGATIONS IN THE UNITED STATES
Dear Brothers:
Jehovah continues to richly bless his people both spiritually and materially while gathering a great international crowd of dedicated people to worship and serve him. (Isa. 2:2,3) What a privilege we have to be a part of this worldwide organization!
Traveling overseers play a large part in instructing and shepherding Jehovah's people, and we have received many expressions of appreciation for their fine services. These brothers appreciate the warm support they receive from the congregations in many ways. Last year thousands of congregations responded generously by contributing to the Traveling Overseers' Automobile and Insurance Program. We wish to thank all of you for your heartfelt expressions in this connection.
This year all congregations are again invited to have a share in caring for the traveling overseers' health insurance and automobile expenses. We anticipate that the expenses will be covered if there is a contribution from each congregation in the amount of 6.50 per publisher. This does not mean that each publisher is expected to contribute 6.50. Rather, the congregation as a whole can make the contribution, and all who are able may help with the expense. In addition to health insurance, this contribution cares for the maintenance of leased cars, vehicle insurance, titles, registrations, and all major repair bills. All funds received are placed in a special account for these purposes only.
We request that congregations make their per capita contribution right away.
