TO ALL BODIES OF ELDERS
Dear Brothers:
An extra supply of the insert titled "Safeguarding Your Children From Misuse of Blood" is being sent to your congregation. This insert appeared in the September 1992 Our Kingdom Ministry.
How is this item to be used? As with the insert "Are You Ready to Face a Faith-Challenging Medical Situation?," which appeared in the November 1990 Our Kingdom Ministry, the secretary should keep copies on hand so that they can be given to newly baptized individuals. This item can be made available right after baptism. (Also, if these newly baptized ones have any unbaptized children, you may also wish to acquaint them with the Identity Card many parents use for their children.) Take a moment or two to explain the use and value of these items to these new brothers and sisters.
To prepare baptismal candidates for this in the future, it is recommended that during the time when the elders review the questions from Organized to Accomplished Our Ministry prior to baptism that the subject of blood on pages 190 and 191 be considered carefully. At that time also both inserts can be mentioned and the candidate can be told that he will receive a copy of each insert when he is baptized.
If any baptized during the 1993 service year have not received a copy of either insert mentioned above, please make sure they receive this vital information.
