EDUCATION FOR LIFE
in the New World
YOU might incline to think that preparing for the new world means preparing to die. That is a mistake, due to religious miseducation. Religion has taught that the new world is another
world on the other side of death, and that we must enter it through the portals of death. And so, no matter how desirable religion may picture
to transfer to another globe, newly made. Like Noah and his household in the ark, you can remain on this earth and, under divine protection, pass out from the old world and into the new. That may sound novel, but it is just what that history-making experience of the inmates of Noah's ark was recorded in the Bible to help us to understand. It was done back there. It can be done now, for this old world that humanity has known now for more than four thousand years since Noah's day is on its way out. Yes, OUT, with its total wars, its injustices and inequalities, its religious mix-up and sectarian rivalries, its political differences and hunglings
will be the "new heavens". Since that means that the present political systems of men will have to move out, and commercial exploitation and the Babel of religions with them, a new visible organization is bound to come into effect on this earth, in harmony with the heavenly Government of righteousness. And there you have the "new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness".
IS THAT WORTH LIVING FOR?
It is, even if it be that the time of the passing out of the old visible organization and the invisible demons supervising it means "days of tribulation". There vet remains a "time

death; which is quite depressing. Death is a gruesome subject, and we are all more interested in how to live under satisfying conditions and in company with good friends. We want to live, and banish death from our minds. We want to learn how to live in happiness and with benefit to everybody else around. Education for the new world is an education for living, because the new world is a place to live forever. That wonderful world, where death itself will be wiped out, is on its way here, and not a long way off. It is due to come whether rulers of this present generation like it or not. It will be a world of unity, not unity of just all of earth's inhabitants, but unity of
and crookedness, its disasters and calamities, its diseases and pain, its poverty and want, and even its causes of death. Anyone who will honestly read the physical evidences which the greatest prophet foretold as due to appear within our generation can see that we have reached the limit of this world of imperfection, wickedness and death.—Matthew chapters 24 and 25; Mark 13; Luke 21.
As you look about and see the things that the great Prophet described nineteen centuries in advance, you can take to heart his explanation of what it all means: "So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Heaven and
of trouble" such as the world has never yet known and will not survive. But certain individuals will be hid under the shadow of God's power and will survive, just as Noah and his seven companions survived the end of the "world that then was". You and I are interested in being among those survivors. Knowing that the "great tribulation" yet to come is for the purpose of clearing the way for bringing in a new world robs the tribulation outlook of its terror and arouses our interest in getting through it alive.
To prepare for living in that "world without end" certainly must require a different education and educational system from what are now in operation serving the aims of this world. What, then, is the required education
heaven and earth; for it takes both to make a world. The surprising fact is that you may pass on into that new world without dying, because in the creation of the said world our literal earth, our globe, is not to be destroyed by a catastrophe spelling death to all on it.
Of course, there will be a new heaven and a new earth; and the inspired educator, the apostle Peter, said that those acquainted with the promise of the almighty Creator look for a "new heavens and a new earth". (2 Peter 3:13) But to get to that new world you will not necessarily have
earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away." (Luke 21:31-33) A Government higher than man, and not set up by scheming politicians, is about to usher in a world that satisfies all righteously disposed "men of good-will" and that is to the glory of a righteous God.
Heaven is higher than earth, and so the Kingdom of God with Messiah
Christ ruling on the throne in God's name is higher than earth, because it is the kingdom of heaven. Hence it
for living without end in happiness and peace? Religious education must absolutely be out of the question. Why, religion has not educated the peoples even to get along with one another now without
another now without wars and ag-
gressions.
What wars has religion prevented? Rather, persons informed on history will ask, What wars has religion provoked? And if religion has so failed in its education of people for this life, how can it be said to have succeeded in educating anybody for life in a new world?
Religion excuses its present failure by claiming that it works benefits for life in another world. Honest persons today are not satisfied with or convinced of that. They want and are now looking for a true, soulsatisfying education to prepare them to live in a world of the kind God creates.
Since it is to be a world of unity, with peace, co-operation, mutual understanding and respect, and brotherly love among all enjoying life under the heavenly Government, then there must be one basic education for all persons alike. It matters not of what nationality or race or color they may be at present. The education must be one that fits all and that is common to all, because it must prepare all for the one end, living together happily forever in the goodness of God through his Government. There must therefore be
ONE TEXTBOOK OF INSTRUCTION
for educating all and to impart to them common knowledge, "one faith, one hope," one understanding of their relationship to their Great Benefactor and to his Government and to one another.
Who will write such a textbook? It is already written and at hand. It is the Bible, and it is up till now printed in at least 1,055 languages either in whole or in part. The Bible makes no distinctions between the peoples of earth, whether Aryan, whether black, or whether born under the Chinese government, or not so. Its message is for all, in accordance with its teaching that "God is no respecter of persons" and "hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth". (Acts 10:34; 17:26, 27) The salvation unto life in his new world he restricts to no favored group on earth. He authorized his Son, the Redeemer of all believing men, to instruct His followers to "be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, AND UNTO THE UTTERMOST PART OF THE EARTH". (Acts 1:8) "And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things."—Luke 24:47, 48.

The many sectarian religionists have confused the Bible with religion and thus made the Bible seemingly a book of perplexing contradictions. But the Bible is not a religious book and is not the property of one or of all the religious sects. It is God's Word and His creation. To God it was that the great Champion of truth, Jesus Christ, said: "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." (John 17:17) It is in that book of truth that you can alone secure the essential education that counts for all time. It tells you what religion has not told you and has even hid from your understanding: the truth about Jehovah God and his purpose through the Kingdom of his Son Jesus Christ. That it is altogether necessary to get such knowledge from the Bible, the Savior of humankind said: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent."—John 17:3.
Among the many true prophets who preceded Christ and who showed the same need of life-giving education was Zephaniah. For our benefit today he said: "Before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord's anger come upon you. Seek ye the Lord [Jehovah], all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord's anger." (Zephaniah 2:2,3) In your being hid lies the opportunity of passing alive through the coming Armageddon of world destruction and entering into the glorious life of the New World.

systems to bring the people to a unity of understanding of the Bible. So you ask:
WHAT SYSTEM OF STUDY
shall I follow to understand the sacred Scriptures and learn therefrom the truth that will make me free from religious errors and put me in the way of life? Once, when reading the Bible for himself, an Ethiopian of high station was asked, "Understandest thou what thou readest?" and he replied, "How can I, except some man should guide me?" The man whose guidance he then accepted and who helped him to the truth was a man fully consecrated, not to some religious system, but to Jehovah God through his Son Jesus Christ.
There are Christians of that kind today who are devoting themselves wholly to the free education of all persons of good-will in all nations, to give them proper guidance in the Holy Scriptures alone. They follow the apostolic method of carrying on such a vast educational program, regardless of race, color or nationality. That method the apostle Paul described, saying: "I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from HOUSE TO HOUSE, testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks." (Acts 20: 20, 21) Religionists do not follow that apostolic method, but require you to come to a steepled religious building for your indoctrination in their sectarian teaching, for what they call "the postwar world order". So it is not strange that they have not proved themselves faithful guides on the Scriptures.
To meet the pressing need for the all-necessary education of the spiritually starved peoples facing Armageddon, Jehovah's witnesses are pursuing the apostolic method of educational activity. They are giving testimony both "publicly, and from house to house". They bring you books to use in your private search of the Scriptures.
