"Things in Which It Is Impossible for God to Lie" is a book published by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society for the benefit of lovers of truth in all countries.
This book speaks with authority, relying on God's own Word the Bible, from which it quotes or cites over 3,000 verses to answer the questions that have perplexed people everywhere.
"Things in Which It Is Impossible for God to Lie" does not seek to please everyone, regardless of viewpoint, by compromising the truth. It plainly presents the facts. Your own concepts will be compared with Bible truth, and, if there are points of disagreement, they will not be covered over but will be openly discussed for your benefit. Do not be afraid to face the facts. If you are on the side of the truth, you will find satisfaction and real happiness by learning the truth.
Since we live in a time of tremendous change, there are many who are inclined to doubt the existence of God and shove aside the Bible. This is a serious mistake. Proof that God lives is stronger now than ever before in human history. You owe it to yourself to consider the evidence. The Bible itself is just as dependable a guide in our day as when it was first written. Fundamental human circumstances have not changed; we humans are still imperfect, with a very limited life-span, and the need for a dependable guide is as great now as at any time in history. The Bible is that God-given guide. None of the achievements of men have detracted from its authority; on the contrary, the Bible itself foretold the happenings of our day, and this confirms its truthfulness. It is still the Word of God, and "it is impossible for God to lie."
There is a great need for reading material that is healthful food for the mind. There is a growing need for fearless presentation of facts that will strengthen faith. As never before all persons need to know what is the truth concerning God's purpose for mankind. The book "Things in Which It Is Impossible for God to Lie" meets that need.
Have you ever asked these questions?
Why should one believe in God when no man has ever seen him?
—This question is answered in chapter one.
What evidence is there that the Bible is the only book truly inspired by God, when there are many other sacred books? Chapter two treats this subject.
In concise form, what is the message of the Bible?
Chapter three presents a delightful synopsis of the Bible.
What is the soul? What happens to us when we die? Will the dead ever live again?
The Bible's clear answers to these questions are presented in chapters five and eighteen.
What good purpose could God possibly have had in mind in instructing Abraham to sacrifice his only son? Why were the Israelites commanded to sacrifice animals to God? Is the belief that Jesus Christ died for us out-of-date?
How these sacrifices marvelously reflect God's love for mankind is explained in chapters seven through ten.
Why has God permitted wickedness? When will it end? These questions are answered in chapter fifteen in a way that satisfies the mind and heart.
Are events of our time a sign that Christ will soon return? Chapters sixteen and seventeen present clear evidence that the happenings of our day are a sign, not that Christ will soon return, but that he has already come, is present for the second time, now as a heavenly king, and that soon the present wicked system of things will be brought to its end by God.
In addition, this fine book discusses such subjects as the founding of the true Christian congregation, what the Law of Moses means to Christians, the earth's future, judgment day, and the way to salvation.
